Like pretty much every other makeup lover out there I'm obsessed with Urban Decay's Naked palettes. When news hit that they were making a mini one filled with neutral matte colours, I knew I had to have it immediately. I ordered mine from Debenhams for £18 when they had 10% off all beauty products & I haven't stopped using it since it popped through my letterbox.
The palette contains six eyeshadows - Venus, Foxy, Walk Of Shame, Naked 2, Faint & Crave. Venus is the only shimmery one, the rest are matte. Naked 2 is probably my favourite shade out of the bunch. It seems like a good dupe for MAC Omega eyeshadow as it works perfectly on my brows as well as all over the lid. I've used it both ways in the above photos - brows with my Laura Mercier Double-Ended Eyebrow Brush (my secret weapon for perfect eyebrows!) and over the lid with a MAC 239 brush. I then blended out the edges using Walk Of Shame on a MAC 217 brush before highlighting under my eyebrows using a bit of Venus on a MAC 227 brush. I used Faint and a MAC 219 brush to line underneath my eyes & add depth to the outer corners & crease. Finally I lined my lashes using Crave on a Real Techniques Brow brush from the Starter Set. This really helps to make your eyelashes look thicker. If you struggle with applying normal liquid eyeliner its a lot easier to use an angled brush & black eyeshadow.
I'm pretty sure that this is the ultimate day palette. The colours & textures are very appropriate for work & school. Adding a bit more of Faint & Crave to your look will help transform your eye makeup for nighttime too. If you don't have time to do a whole look with the palette like I have then Venus, Foxy, Walk Of Shame & Naked 2 all look fab quickly blended all over the eyelid. Faint can be quite difficult to blend & has a bit of fallout so maybe avoid that one if you're in a rush. Even if you already own the other two Naked palettes I think this one is great to have in your collection. I love the depth & drama it brings to my eyes without the harshness of black liquid liner & these neutral colours will suit everyone. The tiny packaging means it will be fab for traveling with & saves me from packing a separate product for my eyebrows. At £20 you're paying roughly £3 per eyeshadow which is a great deal! I adore the Naked Basics palette & it has fast become a staple in my makeup bag. Will you be picking this up?

ReplyDeleteyou do! :) xx
DeleteI have been really into completely matte eyes lately - this is so perfect <3
ReplyDeletesame, i normally go for shimmers but this is great for a more toned down look xx
DeleteEveryone loves this but I'm still so unsure about it! Looks so lovely on you though! x
ReplyDeletei think you'd really like it chelsea, you often wear brown eyeshadows so i'm sure it'd look great on you xx
DeleteI don't have any of their other palette, so I've thought about getting this one -- it sounds perfect.
ReplyDeleteooh definitely get this then! it'll probably make you want to invest in the others as well though haha xx
DeleteI need this so much! Last time I looked at the Naked palettes I was so disappointed there wasn't one with matte shadows. So glad there is one now! Think I need to buy this straight away. Oh, and of course your make up looks amazing as usual!

the other palettes are great if you want a full on shimmery glam look but this is so much simpler and the colours are lovely. definitely get it :) xx
DeleteI wasn't too keen on this palette at first but the more I have seen of it and the looks people have created with it, the more I do want it. xo
ReplyDeletesame, i watched xsparkage on youtube using it & that totally sold it to me xx
DeleteI dont need this, and Ive firmly told myself that.. But as with all makeup items, the more they appear on blogs the more I feel I should own it! I do have so many other eyeshadow palettes though!

well if you already have loads of neutral mattes then you probably don't need it but its just nice to have them all together in a compact form :) xx
DeleteSometimes I feel like I'm the only person on the internet who doesn't own one of the big Naked palettes so I'm really tempted to pick this one up, especially as you now say one of them can double up as a brow shade (I reckon my brows are a similar colour to yours). Gorgeous! Can't believe you used a black eyeshadow to do your liner, it's so tidy!
ReplyDeleteaw if you don't own the others then you should definitely get this! its so much more compact & cheaper too. the brow colour is perfecto! you should try doing your liner with eyeshadow, its surprisingly easy :) xx
DeleteI like my full palette and use mainly the metallics because I'm not good at blending and applying eye makeup. Not sure if I would need this but I agree it is perfect for a day time look and works out good value per colour x
ReplyDeleteif you prefer shimmers then you probably don't need this but it is nice if you just want something simple xx
DeleteThat eye look is gorgeous! I really need these because I'm more a matte eyeshadow girl anyway.
ReplyDeleteaw thank you! they're such lovely shadows xx
DeleteI loveeee Naked palettes! Walk of shame and Venus look gorgeous xx
ReplyDeletethe naked palettes are my faves too! xx
DeleteI don't own any naked palettes and thought I wouldn't need this either, but you make it look GOOD! Now I'm torn!
ReplyDeletexo
if you don't own any of them then you definitely need to pick at least one of them up! this is the best one if you're not one for full on colours xx
DeleteI want this so bad! X
ReplyDeleteits so worth it! xx
DeleteAmazing review and than you so much for including a photo of your look - I think now I'm convinced to buy it! X

seeing other people's looks definitely made me want to purchase it. otherwise i think it seems quite boring when theres actually some lovely looks you can do with it :) xx
DeleteI've been contemplating getting this. Your makeup looks gorgeous :) xx
ReplyDeletethanks sadie! you should get it, so worth it! xx
DeleteI desperately want this. DESPERATELY. I've not been massively taken with the original Naked palettes or the MUA version- they're ok, but this is perfection by the looks of things.
