Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil

Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil - £11.75

Prepare yourselves for a massive product rave. I briefly mentioned this in my last monthly favourites post but my love for this product just grows and grows every time I use it. I figured I needed to do a full review because this is a product you need. You know how I go on and on about Alpha-H Liquid Gold? Well this is something I love just as much. Yep, it's seriously that good. It deserves miracle worker status. It's done a lot of good to my skin and it's done it in such a short amount of time. I've been using it for over a month now and the difference it's made to my skin has greatly increased my confidence without makeup.

Trilogy's Rosehip Oil is a bright orange oil with a very light consistency. It has no discernible smell and is easily absorbed. It contains a blend of vitamins and fatty acids to help replenish and renew the skin. On the box Trilogy claim that this oil can combat scars, stretch marks and wrinkles. I really think that they need to add acne to that list because this stuff has worked wonders on my blemishes. It has healed red active spots, scarring from old spots and along with chemical exfoliants, has cleared my skin of closed comedones. The result is that the texture of my skin has been completely resurfaced. It is smooth, soft and bump-free. For me that's a really big deal. I had a bad reaction to the REN Micro Polish Cleanser a few months ago and got loads of red spots as well as the closed comedones underneath my skin. My face never really recovered from that and I was close to giving up. My skin looked like crap with and without makeup because of those bumps. But this has saved my skin! I can't even remember the last time my forehead didn't have a bump on it. My chin is still suffering a bit but my blackheads and congestion do lessen every time I use this.

I normally use about 5 drops scattered on my face at night and massage it in. Whereas I can use the Clarins Lotus Oil on it's own I do feel that I need to use a moisturiser after this. In my opinion the dream teammate for this oil is Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins. They work perfectly together to keep my skin hydrated, nourished, radiant and clear when I wake up the next morning. I think my favourite thing about rosehip oil is the clarity it gives to my face. It works to fade scarring as well as balancing out my uneven skin tone. Thanks to this wonder oil I've not actually worn a full face of foundation for the last month, opting for Clinique CC Cream instead. I never thought that I would be one of 'those' people but for me full coverage foundation is now a thing of the past.

I picked this up in Boots with my meal deal for £16.50 but you can actually get it loads cheaper on Escentual at just £11.75! I'd happily pay much more for this product and I think £11 is well within most people's skincare budget. So if you don't mind waiting a couple of days for delivery then that's a fab deal. I'd recommend getting the smaller bottle anyway because oil does lose it's freshness over time. The difference this has made to my skin is just astounding. If you've not tried using rosehip oil already, go and buy some right now!

  2. Hi Caroline, I love the Liquid gold too, do you use the oil on the nights you don't use the Alpha H? Or if you use it with the alpha h I assume it goes on after the Liquid Gold? X

    1. i only ever use liquid gold alone so it delivers the full effect. i normally use liquid gold 1 or 2 nights a week then alternate between estee lauder advanced night repair & trilogy rosehip oil depending on what i feel like, followed by origins high potency night-a-mins. i've used the other products for a while but it was only the introduction of the rosehip oil that's made me notice this massive difference. hope that helps! xx

  3. my boyfriend actually had this in his travel bag when he came over from NZ (crazy right) and I've now stolen it, I've been using it a little but been slacking. I Felt like it gave my skin SUCH a nice look in the morning, but I've also had a few more spots then normal, Maybe just a coincidence but i think i just need to start using it more xx

  9. I've seen so many people talking about this, I just want to know what if any difference there is between the trilogy rosehip oil and one you can buy off amazon?

    1. you know, i'm not entirely sure there is a difference! i decided to go for this one because there was a trusted skincare name behind it and it's certified organic. whereas if you're buying a random bottle of rosehip oil theres not really any way of knowing how pure the ingredients are. the reviews of the cheaper bottles on amazon seem quite mixed with some people saying it does nothing at all. in my opinion the trilogy one is a cheap enough option with proven results but it is possible that the one on amazon is just as good xx
