What I Wore Today

Top - New Look
Cardigan - Oasis
Shorts - Topshop
Belt - Topshop
Necklace - Marc Jacobs

I can't believe that Christmas is only 11 days away! I've not even put any decorations up yet. I really need to get cracking with my Christmas shopping so this is what I'm wearing today to find some nice pressies. Shopping on a Saturday scares me, theres just way too many people so I'm trying to get it done during the week. Just have to wait for Chloe to wake up from her nap and we'll be off.

I got this top from New Look & these shorts from Topshop over the summer but I never got the chance to wear them because they were both a bit tight on me. I've lost a bit of weight since then so I thought I would wear them out today. Yes I'm one of those people who wear tights and shorts no matter how freezing it is outside, it just looks better! My weight loss has pretty much come to a standstill at 10st 6lbs so I think I just need to make more time for the gym. I had to give up on the 30 day shred after day one because I couldn't fully extend my arms properly for about a week! I will do it though, I'm making a commitment. Luckily I don't really pig out over Christmas. This will be the first year where I am making Christmas dinner so we're having chicken instead of turkey, stuffing, veggies & about a million sausages wrapped in bacon, yum! Can't wait, I love cooking. I also hate Christmas pudding, yule log is where its at.

My mum is coming up from London tomorrow to spend some time with me & Chloe and give us our pressies. She and my sister are going to New York for Christmas so I am seriously jealous. In 2008 we went there for my birthday in August and again at Christmas so I suppose I can't complain too much. So I'll be spending the next few days with her. Luckily the hotel shes staying at has a free gym so I can work out and I can go to shops that don't allow prams in yay! I'm also hoping that me and Andy can go on a night out on Thursday. I'm not holding out much hope though. Last night he went to Headingley to watch the football with one of his friends and said he'd be back at 10.30. I was awake til 1.30 and he still wasn't back. When he arrived home this morning he told me how they drank loads of brandy shots, came into town & went to a club down the road from our flat. But instead of coming back home he went back with his friend, who had pulled, and had to wait for them to finish having sex to leave. So now hes decided he hates drinking and wants to be straight edge... I don't know, my boyfriend is rather strange.

in the company of wolves.

Cape: American Apparel
T-shirt: Urban Outfitters
Necklace: Anna Lou Of London

I'm glad its getting a bit warmer out. Means I don't have to trudge around town in my DMs, massive coat & scarf. I do love this cape, it makes feel like I'm Little Red Riding Hood. When I bought it the sales assistant even asked me if I was getting it for Halloween haha! I wore this out on Saturday on a trip to Crown Point as I needed to pop into Asda Living to get some supplies for Chloe. The stuff I got for her weighed so much that the bags must've cut off the circulation in my ring finger or something because I still can't feel it properly! Its been a couple of days now, so I'm getting quite worried!

I also went to New Look so I could get this top. It took me ages to decide between the cream & grey but in the end I bought the grey one because I thought it went better with my hair. I'll probably do an outfit post with it later this week. When I got it home and tried it on I noticed one of the buttons was missing, boo! I'll just have to sew on the spare because I really can't be bothered to go back.

And I couldn't do a post without mentioning the X Factor finale! I really didn't want Matt to win because he seems like a smug tosser. I'm quite conflicted about him releasing a Biffy Clyro song. They've been around for ages but only really got successful in the last couple of years so its good that they'll be getting one massive royalty cheque. However their latest stuff is a load of crap so Matt publicising them means their latest album is gonna get played even more by the likes of Radio 1, urgh. Bring back the Blackened Sky days I say! The highlight of the whole thing was probably Rihanna & Christina Aguilera performing. It kinda sickens me to think that Rihanna is only a few months older than me, but shes definitely good diet motivation!

Object Of Desire: Christmas Edition

Christmas came early for me this year because I decided to get myself a little treat. Back in July I lost my Nokia N97 when I was getting off the bus and because I still had insurance with Dial-A-Phone, which is basically a scam, I couldn't get a replacement. So I had to revert back to using my really old Nokia 6280 which is pretty much broken. Finally my Orange upgrade date came around and I decided to upgrade to an iPhone 4. I got it last week and I haven't stopped playing with it since! I love it so much. I was always hesistant about getting an iPhone because I couldn't type anything on my sisters iPod Touch and was considering upgrading to a Blackberry Torch or Nokia N8. But I'm so glad I went for this, you get used to the touch screen very quickly and I love buying apps haha. Other than Twitter & Facebook my faves are Hipstamatic, MyFitnessPal and Chu Chu Rocket which is an epic game I used to play with my sister when we had a Sega Dreamcast. Tell me some of your fave apps please, I love playing about with new ones :) Plus check out the gorgeous case I got off eBay! I wanted a Japanese deco style case or one of the cute cases from Strapya World but this'll do for now.

Anyways here is my Christmas Wishlist for this year. I realise its very unlikely that I'll get any of these as they're quite expensive but thats why its a wishlist ;)

Filofax Raspberry Metropol Personal Organiser
I know I've just got an iPhone which is a good organisational tool but nothing can beat writing things down on paper. Crossing out things on a to-do list is so much more satisfying than ticking it off on an app. Plus the Raspberry Metropol is a gorgeous creation.

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum
This smells absolutely divine! I keep finding myself wandering into Debenhams and showering myself in the stuff. I used to use Marc Jacobs Lola and still have some Chloe perfume left but I want something new and nothing smells better than this little beauty.

Miu Miu Vitello Lux Satchel
Ahh the much coveted bow satchel bag. Although I do have a couple of designer bags already I can't stop myself from wanting this one. Its massive so you can fit tons of stuff in there, the bows are adorable and it looks like a really classic bag. I love the grey colour too. I know shes a goon but I saw Vanessa Hudgens with this bag and it looked stunning on her arm. I can't afford the real thing though so I'm thinking about getting one off eBay instead.

H&M Leather Shorts
These are the perfect leather shorts!! I much prefer the hotpant style to the high waisted long leather shorts available in the likes of Topshop & River Island at the moment. Unfortunately the H&M in Leeds only have them in a size 16. I even tried those on in the hope that they would fit because we all know H&M have really dodgy sizing but they were just too loose. I WANT these though, if anyone sees them in a size 10 or 12 please buy them for me & I will pay you generously for them!

Agent Provocateur Love Lingerie Set
I have asked for the Love demi bra & panties for my anniversary and my birthday but Andy has still not bought them for me! So I'm asking for them again for Christmas. I don't own anything from Agent Provocateur but I am desperate to. Their lingerie is the best in the world, even the packaging they use is gorgeous. Its such a shame all their bras are so expensive. I kinda just want this so I can strut around pretending I'm Lady Gaga in the Bad Romance video. If its good enough for Gaga, its good enough for me.

Bones Season 1-5 DVD Box Set
I saw a couple of episodes of this when I went to New York in 2008 and it was definitely my kinda show. Normally I would just download it all but I only get 15GB a month on my crappy 3 dongle & BTOpenzone kicks me off for a day if I download just one MP3. So box sets are the way forward.

Hopefully I'll get at least one of these things for Christmas or I will be a sad panda. And I hope you all get everything you want as well!

death by bagel.

Dress - Topshop
Necklace - This Charming Girl

Today I'm wearing this black ponti shift dress from Topshop. I love the flared sleeves on it. Its so basic but I think the shape is pretty cool & classic. I never get to go anywhere exciting anymore & wearing my PJs all day every day is depressing so dressing up is making me feel better. Sorry that you can't really see it! I guess I should stop wearing black in outfit posts. My flat is so tiny that the only place with a plain background and enough light is in front of the wardrobe which happens to be black... ah well. I bought this necklace from This Charming Girl who do some amazing jewellery. I have a similar Marc Jacobs necklace which is more of a pewter colour but now I'm blondie again, I'm back to my excessive gold jewellery loving ways so I bought this to wear instead.

God I am so sick of this snow! I really need to go buy some food but still haven't ventured outside. I've had a bagel for pretty much every meal the last four days. It is actually sending me mental and making me massively crave vegetables! Captivity is also making me so unorganised. I've only bought Andy and Chloe some Christmas presents so far and I totally forgot that its my mums birthday today. Shes 63 years old now. I feel so awful, she always sends me stuff and buys anything that I don't have enough money for but I couldn't even remember to send her a card. Hopefully a text & a call later will do? Lol, I suck.

Anyways, I'm probably just gonna spend the rest of the day watching Sailor Moon and complaining about stuff on Twitter. Feel free to add me if you've not already!

i'm in lesbians with you.

Headband - H&M
Shirt - American Apparel
Skirt - American Apparel

This is what I'm wearing today, don't worry I'm not planning on going outside! I love this headband so much! Its a big black velvet bow and it always makes me feel cute. Doing this blog is making me realise how much stuff I wear from American Apparel. Its a shame that the one in Leeds is a bit rubbish, I can't find anything in there because of how they've laid out the stock. I always used to go to the one on Carnaby Street in London followed by a trip to Bodeans, nom nom nom.

Anyway I'm planning on staying inside today with the heating on full blast. I've got a cold which woke me up at 5am today & Chloe has a cough so we're better off in the warm. I'm probably gonna re-watch Scott Pilgrim later for the 3rd time in 2 weeks! I'm a bit late on the bandwagon because no one wanted to see it with me when it was on in the cinema. I love it though, might ask for the comic box set for Crimbo. I also downloaded the soundtrack because I really like the stuff Beck did for the film, especially 'Ramona'. I loved all the little references in it like how they used loads of Zelda music, plus he wears a Smashing Pumpkins t-shirt which is the same as my tattoo, sweet :)

Graduation

On Thursday 18th November it was the Leeds College Of Art graduation ceremony. We actually finished uni back in July but we only just had our ceremony for some reason. I managed to get a 2.1 in BA(Hons) Graphic Design which I am very proud of. Not too shabby for someone who did the last year of their degree whilst pregnant! I was so looking forward to seeing all my friends again now that pretty much everyone has moved back home from Leeds. In the picture above you can see me and my daughter along with my good friend (and sister in law to be) Jane and her son Joshua. We both got pregnant in the last year, we're a right pair haha! And theres me on the stage being awarded my certificate. There were so many bad pictures taken of me on this day. Thanks to Double Wear I had a great big fat white moon face!

Playsuit - Miss Selfridge
Hoodie - American Apparel
Jacket - Primark

The main thing about graduation that I was looking forward to was being able to go on a night out afterwards. But everyone decided to go home or have a meal with their families apart from me and my friend Claire. The ceremony was so anticlimactic so I knew we had to make up for it by getting wrecked! This is what I wore on our adventure around Leeds. We went to Revs and had a cocktail pitcher which was so good but I think I've lost my drinking abilities! It took me ages to finish a single glass, its been way too long. I used to drink more than anyone and always left my trademark (being sick lol) in various pubs & clubs. But I just couldn't do it. Although we didn't really get drunk it was lovely to see Claire. I miss seeing my friends every day at uni so much!

After Claire went home I went out with my boyfriend which was basically epic fail. He made me go to Mezz instead of Wire because some people from his bar job at Gatecrasher were going. Mezz is quite possibly the worst club I have ever gone to. So we left after about 20 mins. Graduation was so crap compared to how I had imagined it to be. Thank god it will never happen again!

New Nails: Polka Dot

When I saw that the Models Own x Wah Nails nail art pens had been released I jumped at the chance to buy them. I got both the black and the white because even though they're supposed to be releasing nail art pens of all their colours, black & white are great to start with. I picked up a nail varnish in Top Turquoise with these as I realised that I didn't own a turquoise colour. This was also my first ever Models Own polish. I always stuck with Barry M and apart from the pens, I think I will continue with just buying Barry M. The turquoise colour is really pretty and applies really thickly - it looked pretty good after just one coat. However it doesn't dry very quickly and I found it went gunky when I applied the second coat. It also looked like the colours had separated a bit in the bottle and no matter how much I shook it up, it stayed like that. It made me wonder if they had sent me really old stock or something...

Anyway I used the turquoise and the white pen to create this polka dot look. I know its quite simple but its something I've always wanted to try out. The pen made it quite easy to do the dots (any blobs are pretty much human error!). I found the polka dot pattern looks best if you do three dots down the middle of the nail and then two either side of that. Seche Vite really helped to finish them off as it smoothed down the big white blobs.

The bunny ring is from Me & Zena but I bought it off Spoiled Brat using Emma's discount code (thanks Emma!). I got it in a size 8 so its a bit big for my fingers and I have to wear it on my index finger which feels a bit weird. I'm also really happy as I finally managed to get my engagement ring on again! Its a size L and I still had fat fingers for ages after pregnancy, now it fits yay!

BTW thanks for all the lovely comments on my hair in my last post! I'm glad you all like it as much as I do :)

New Hair!

Cardigan - Urban Outfitters
Ring - Topshop

I finally got my hair did! Yesterday I went to Cutting Room Creative in Leeds City Centre and after 7 long hours my hair was finally transformed from brown to blonde. I asked for a blue/silver tint to my newly white locks which I think adds an interesting dimension to it. Not too sure about the fringe, I think I prefer fuller ones but I can always get that done another time. I am very happy with the colour though. If you need a good colourist I would highly recommend you visit CRC.

My hair needed 3 bleachings and two applications of toner to get it like this so a fair bit needed to be cut off. My old salon used to just apply it once and then sit me under a heat lamp but they needed to cut my hair shorter so perhaps multiple applications are the way forward. It cost me £120 in total which is pretty decent plus I got 25% off as it was my first visit. I think something that helped to save more of my hair was this wonder hair treatment I used. I purchased this from Tesco for the grand total of... £1.50! I'd heard that coconut oil was a good hair treatment from the girl behind one of my favourite tumblrs so I figured I would give it a go. I found it in Tesco's world foods aisle where I also picked up some Sarsaparilla (I love this drink so much, it reminds me of when I was younger and we used to go to Woolwich market at the weekend). If you rub it all over your hair (the coconut oil that is, not Sarsaparilla!), sleep with it on and wash it off in the morning, you're left with the most amazingly soft hair. You can also use it as a kind of wax/serum. Its totally natural and so good for your hair. Give it a go!

After my appointment I popped into Urban Outfitters and got this cardigan. It is so warmy, I think I'm in love!

platinum blonde life.

Playsuit - In Love With Fashion
Socks - American Apparel
Ring - ASOS

This will hopefully be my last post as a brunette because today I finally booked my hair appointment! I'm getting it cut and coloured on Monday morning and after 6 hours in the salon I should have my beautiful platinum hair back. I'm so excited, I hate my current hair so much. The bad cut probably doesn't help but I feel like I look dowdy and boring with brown hair. I had a patch test earlier and they gave me a quote (with a 25% discount) for £82! Thats such a bargin for me, I used to pay just under that every time I had my roots done in London!

I got this playsuit from In Love With Fashion. They're one of those concessions they have in Topshop Oxford Circus who do some gorgeous party dresses. I also ordered a one shoulder camel coloured dress which I'm saving for a night out. You get a tenner off your first online order so I'd totally recommend them. I'd be careful with the sizing though, I think they only do S/M & M/L. I got M/L and the dress is quite tight even though I'm a size 10-12 now.

I also ordered some dumbbells and the 30 Day Shred DVD. I've heard so many good things about this & I've never tried an exercise DVD before so I thought I would give it a go. I'm a bit ill atm so I'm gonna start it tomorrow. My weight loss is going ok. I still eat junk (just devoured a big mac!) but I'm doing more exercise and I think thats what makes the difference. I'm down to 10st 6lbs so only 20lbs to go until I reach my final goal. And for the the first time in ages Wii Fit says I'm back in the ideal BMI range :) Has anyone else tried this DVD out? What kind of results did you see? Or is there another fitness DVD you swear by?

Vogue's Fashion Night In Haul

The 1st of November was the date of Vogue's Fashion Night In where various online shops were offering discounts, competitions and special gifts to people logging on to their websites. The only one that grabbed my attention was the goodie bag being given away by HQ Hair to the first 300 customers to spend £20.

To get the goodie bag I ordered these two products from Bumble & Bumble; Prep and Quenching Complex. I already knew that Prep is a great product. It detangles your hair, is a great base product for blow drying and it helped my hair to grow quicker. I ran out a while ago and never had the funds to repurchase it until now. It is quite possibly my favourite hair product ever, I can't recommend it enough! I tried the Quenching Complex last night and my ends look like they're in really good condition, I can barely see my many split ends. It feels really light and my hair doesn't feel greasy at all. I think this could be a life saver when I get my hair bleached again (aiming for next week, fingers crossed!).

The 5 free items came in this pretty Paul & Joe tote bag. There was a sample bottle of Moroccanoil which is something I've wanted to try for ages, a sachet of Frederic Fekkai's Colour Care hair mask, a tube of Philip Kingsley Scalp Mask, a bottle of Philosophy's Purity facial cleanser and a mini Nars Multiple in South Beach.

I already own a fullsize Multiple in Copacabana which is a shimmery white colour, perfect for highlighting. This sample size is so cute & dinky and fits right in my makeup bag. South Beach is a beautiful golden bronze. I'm so pale so I was worried it might be a bit dark on my skin but it blends out really well to a light golden shimmer.

I've not tried the Philosophy cleanser yet but I'm excited to try it out as I love their products. I already bought this Philosophy Kiss Me Tonight lip treatment from their QVC store and it makes my lips amazingly soft. You're meant to put it on overnight and when you wake up the next day you're left with super soft lips. You can also use it as a regular lip balm. It will be so worth the money this Winter as my lips get so dry in the cold and it works well as a lipstick base too.

Ignore my goon face but check out my shiny hair!! This is purely down to the Moroccanoil! I used a tiny drop all over my hair when it was damp and after blow drying it my hair was so shiny and frizz free. When this bottle runs out I think I'm gonna have to invest in the full size version but because you need such a tiny amount this should last me quite a while.

Did anyone else get anything good from Fashion Night In?

Hey Babydoll.

T-Shirt - French Connection
Cardigan - American Apparel
Snood - Topshop
Skirt - American Apparel
Tights - Topshop
Shoes - Urban Outfitters

As you can probably tell I'm a bit of a geek. I loved the film Kick Ass so when I saw this t-shirt in French Connection I knew I had to have it. It even came with a little booklet about the film which I thought was a nice touch.

I wore this for a walk around the shops in Leeds. I really wanted to get my eyebrows threaded as everyone says how good it is. I went to Harvey Nicks first but there wasn't anyone at the threading stand plus it was £24! So I had a look at the one in Debenhams but the woman there looked like she wasn't doing a very good job so I just came home and plucked them myself as per usual.

I also went on a hunt for some nice shorts. I saw the most amazing leather shorts in H&M but they only had a size 16 left, boo! I went to River Island as I saw some nicer but more expensive ones on their website. Couldn't see them instore so I tried these instead. They're so lovely and made my waist & legs look so skinny! Unfortunately they made my hips look wide and my bum look flat. I'm still undecided so I may go back for them but I think I would prefer some leather ones. Has anyone seen any nice ones that aren't too expensive recently? Let me knowww!

She Used To Be A Pearl...

Dress - Motel
Scarf - American Apparel
Jeans - New Look
Necklace - Galibardy

How nice are the clothes by Motel right now? Seriously love most of their stuff. I got this pearly dress from their last sale. It is so gorgeous and comfy too. Its a bit short to actually wear as a dress (and I'm only 5'4"!) so I rolled it up underneath and wore it as a top.

I also really love Galibardy jewellery. I bought this stag necklace a couple of months ago and I wear it all the time. I used to be known as the girl who always wore interesting necklaces but I've mainly been wearing my silver heart necklace for pretty much the last two years. My boyfriend got me it for our first Valentine's Day together and I've not really taken it off since! I miss wearing all my cool jewellery though so I'm gonna make more of an effort with it.

This is what I wore to make a horrible trip to the post office. I decided to sell my corset on ebay (whatever made me think that an expensive corset was a must-buy item, I'll never know...) and I managed to get 40 quid for it. Some man bought it and I got slightly freaked out that he might be a perv but wotevz, I'm getting money for it haha!
