i'm in lesbians with you.

Headband - H&M
Shirt - American Apparel
Skirt - American Apparel

This is what I'm wearing today, don't worry I'm not planning on going outside! I love this headband so much! Its a big black velvet bow and it always makes me feel cute. Doing this blog is making me realise how much stuff I wear from American Apparel. Its a shame that the one in Leeds is a bit rubbish, I can't find anything in there because of how they've laid out the stock. I always used to go to the one on Carnaby Street in London followed by a trip to Bodeans, nom nom nom.

Anyway I'm planning on staying inside today with the heating on full blast. I've got a cold which woke me up at 5am today & Chloe has a cough so we're better off in the warm. I'm probably gonna re-watch Scott Pilgrim later for the 3rd time in 2 weeks! I'm a bit late on the bandwagon because no one wanted to see it with me when it was on in the cinema. I love it though, might ask for the comic box set for Crimbo. I also downloaded the soundtrack because I really like the stuff Beck did for the film, especially 'Ramona'. I loved all the little references in it like how they used loads of Zelda music, plus he wears a Smashing Pumpkins t-shirt which is the same as my tattoo, sweet :)

Graduation

On Thursday 18th November it was the Leeds College Of Art graduation ceremony. We actually finished uni back in July but we only just had our ceremony for some reason. I managed to get a 2.1 in BA(Hons) Graphic Design which I am very proud of. Not too shabby for someone who did the last year of their degree whilst pregnant! I was so looking forward to seeing all my friends again now that pretty much everyone has moved back home from Leeds. In the picture above you can see me and my daughter along with my good friend (and sister in law to be) Jane and her son Joshua. We both got pregnant in the last year, we're a right pair haha! And theres me on the stage being awarded my certificate. There were so many bad pictures taken of me on this day. Thanks to Double Wear I had a great big fat white moon face!

Playsuit - Miss Selfridge
Hoodie - American Apparel
Jacket - Primark

The main thing about graduation that I was looking forward to was being able to go on a night out afterwards. But everyone decided to go home or have a meal with their families apart from me and my friend Claire. The ceremony was so anticlimactic so I knew we had to make up for it by getting wrecked! This is what I wore on our adventure around Leeds. We went to Revs and had a cocktail pitcher which was so good but I think I've lost my drinking abilities! It took me ages to finish a single glass, its been way too long. I used to drink more than anyone and always left my trademark (being sick lol) in various pubs & clubs. But I just couldn't do it. Although we didn't really get drunk it was lovely to see Claire. I miss seeing my friends every day at uni so much!

After Claire went home I went out with my boyfriend which was basically epic fail. He made me go to Mezz instead of Wire because some people from his bar job at Gatecrasher were going. Mezz is quite possibly the worst club I have ever gone to. So we left after about 20 mins. Graduation was so crap compared to how I had imagined it to be. Thank god it will never happen again!

New Nails: Polka Dot

When I saw that the Models Own x Wah Nails nail art pens had been released I jumped at the chance to buy them. I got both the black and the white because even though they're supposed to be releasing nail art pens of all their colours, black & white are great to start with. I picked up a nail varnish in Top Turquoise with these as I realised that I didn't own a turquoise colour. This was also my first ever Models Own polish. I always stuck with Barry M and apart from the pens, I think I will continue with just buying Barry M. The turquoise colour is really pretty and applies really thickly - it looked pretty good after just one coat. However it doesn't dry very quickly and I found it went gunky when I applied the second coat. It also looked like the colours had separated a bit in the bottle and no matter how much I shook it up, it stayed like that. It made me wonder if they had sent me really old stock or something...

Anyway I used the turquoise and the white pen to create this polka dot look. I know its quite simple but its something I've always wanted to try out. The pen made it quite easy to do the dots (any blobs are pretty much human error!). I found the polka dot pattern looks best if you do three dots down the middle of the nail and then two either side of that. Seche Vite really helped to finish them off as it smoothed down the big white blobs.

The bunny ring is from Me & Zena but I bought it off Spoiled Brat using Emma's discount code (thanks Emma!). I got it in a size 8 so its a bit big for my fingers and I have to wear it on my index finger which feels a bit weird. I'm also really happy as I finally managed to get my engagement ring on again! Its a size L and I still had fat fingers for ages after pregnancy, now it fits yay!

BTW thanks for all the lovely comments on my hair in my last post! I'm glad you all like it as much as I do :)

New Hair!

Cardigan - Urban Outfitters
Ring - Topshop

I finally got my hair did! Yesterday I went to Cutting Room Creative in Leeds City Centre and after 7 long hours my hair was finally transformed from brown to blonde. I asked for a blue/silver tint to my newly white locks which I think adds an interesting dimension to it. Not too sure about the fringe, I think I prefer fuller ones but I can always get that done another time. I am very happy with the colour though. If you need a good colourist I would highly recommend you visit CRC.

My hair needed 3 bleachings and two applications of toner to get it like this so a fair bit needed to be cut off. My old salon used to just apply it once and then sit me under a heat lamp but they needed to cut my hair shorter so perhaps multiple applications are the way forward. It cost me £120 in total which is pretty decent plus I got 25% off as it was my first visit. I think something that helped to save more of my hair was this wonder hair treatment I used. I purchased this from Tesco for the grand total of... £1.50! I'd heard that coconut oil was a good hair treatment from the girl behind one of my favourite tumblrs so I figured I would give it a go. I found it in Tesco's world foods aisle where I also picked up some Sarsaparilla (I love this drink so much, it reminds me of when I was younger and we used to go to Woolwich market at the weekend). If you rub it all over your hair (the coconut oil that is, not Sarsaparilla!), sleep with it on and wash it off in the morning, you're left with the most amazingly soft hair. You can also use it as a kind of wax/serum. Its totally natural and so good for your hair. Give it a go!

After my appointment I popped into Urban Outfitters and got this cardigan. It is so warmy, I think I'm in love!

platinum blonde life.

Playsuit - In Love With Fashion
Socks - American Apparel
Ring - ASOS

This will hopefully be my last post as a brunette because today I finally booked my hair appointment! I'm getting it cut and coloured on Monday morning and after 6 hours in the salon I should have my beautiful platinum hair back. I'm so excited, I hate my current hair so much. The bad cut probably doesn't help but I feel like I look dowdy and boring with brown hair. I had a patch test earlier and they gave me a quote (with a 25% discount) for £82! Thats such a bargin for me, I used to pay just under that every time I had my roots done in London!

I got this playsuit from In Love With Fashion. They're one of those concessions they have in Topshop Oxford Circus who do some gorgeous party dresses. I also ordered a one shoulder camel coloured dress which I'm saving for a night out. You get a tenner off your first online order so I'd totally recommend them. I'd be careful with the sizing though, I think they only do S/M & M/L. I got M/L and the dress is quite tight even though I'm a size 10-12 now.

I also ordered some dumbbells and the 30 Day Shred DVD. I've heard so many good things about this & I've never tried an exercise DVD before so I thought I would give it a go. I'm a bit ill atm so I'm gonna start it tomorrow. My weight loss is going ok. I still eat junk (just devoured a big mac!) but I'm doing more exercise and I think thats what makes the difference. I'm down to 10st 6lbs so only 20lbs to go until I reach my final goal. And for the the first time in ages Wii Fit says I'm back in the ideal BMI range :) Has anyone else tried this DVD out? What kind of results did you see? Or is there another fitness DVD you swear by?

Vogue's Fashion Night In Haul

The 1st of November was the date of Vogue's Fashion Night In where various online shops were offering discounts, competitions and special gifts to people logging on to their websites. The only one that grabbed my attention was the goodie bag being given away by HQ Hair to the first 300 customers to spend £20.

To get the goodie bag I ordered these two products from Bumble & Bumble; Prep and Quenching Complex. I already knew that Prep is a great product. It detangles your hair, is a great base product for blow drying and it helped my hair to grow quicker. I ran out a while ago and never had the funds to repurchase it until now. It is quite possibly my favourite hair product ever, I can't recommend it enough! I tried the Quenching Complex last night and my ends look like they're in really good condition, I can barely see my many split ends. It feels really light and my hair doesn't feel greasy at all. I think this could be a life saver when I get my hair bleached again (aiming for next week, fingers crossed!).

The 5 free items came in this pretty Paul & Joe tote bag. There was a sample bottle of Moroccanoil which is something I've wanted to try for ages, a sachet of Frederic Fekkai's Colour Care hair mask, a tube of Philip Kingsley Scalp Mask, a bottle of Philosophy's Purity facial cleanser and a mini Nars Multiple in South Beach.

I already own a fullsize Multiple in Copacabana which is a shimmery white colour, perfect for highlighting. This sample size is so cute & dinky and fits right in my makeup bag. South Beach is a beautiful golden bronze. I'm so pale so I was worried it might be a bit dark on my skin but it blends out really well to a light golden shimmer.

I've not tried the Philosophy cleanser yet but I'm excited to try it out as I love their products. I already bought this Philosophy Kiss Me Tonight lip treatment from their QVC store and it makes my lips amazingly soft. You're meant to put it on overnight and when you wake up the next day you're left with super soft lips. You can also use it as a regular lip balm. It will be so worth the money this Winter as my lips get so dry in the cold and it works well as a lipstick base too.

Ignore my goon face but check out my shiny hair!! This is purely down to the Moroccanoil! I used a tiny drop all over my hair when it was damp and after blow drying it my hair was so shiny and frizz free. When this bottle runs out I think I'm gonna have to invest in the full size version but because you need such a tiny amount this should last me quite a while.

Did anyone else get anything good from Fashion Night In?

Hey Babydoll.

T-Shirt - French Connection
Cardigan - American Apparel
Snood - Topshop
Skirt - American Apparel
Tights - Topshop
Shoes - Urban Outfitters

As you can probably tell I'm a bit of a geek. I loved the film Kick Ass so when I saw this t-shirt in French Connection I knew I had to have it. It even came with a little booklet about the film which I thought was a nice touch.

I wore this for a walk around the shops in Leeds. I really wanted to get my eyebrows threaded as everyone says how good it is. I went to Harvey Nicks first but there wasn't anyone at the threading stand plus it was £24! So I had a look at the one in Debenhams but the woman there looked like she wasn't doing a very good job so I just came home and plucked them myself as per usual.

I also went on a hunt for some nice shorts. I saw the most amazing leather shorts in H&M but they only had a size 16 left, boo! I went to River Island as I saw some nicer but more expensive ones on their website. Couldn't see them instore so I tried these instead. They're so lovely and made my waist & legs look so skinny! Unfortunately they made my hips look wide and my bum look flat. I'm still undecided so I may go back for them but I think I would prefer some leather ones. Has anyone seen any nice ones that aren't too expensive recently? Let me knowww!

She Used To Be A Pearl...

Dress - Motel
Scarf - American Apparel
Jeans - New Look
Necklace - Galibardy

How nice are the clothes by Motel right now? Seriously love most of their stuff. I got this pearly dress from their last sale. It is so gorgeous and comfy too. Its a bit short to actually wear as a dress (and I'm only 5'4"!) so I rolled it up underneath and wore it as a top.

I also really love Galibardy jewellery. I bought this stag necklace a couple of months ago and I wear it all the time. I used to be known as the girl who always wore interesting necklaces but I've mainly been wearing my silver heart necklace for pretty much the last two years. My boyfriend got me it for our first Valentine's Day together and I've not really taken it off since! I miss wearing all my cool jewellery though so I'm gonna make more of an effort with it.

This is what I wore to make a horrible trip to the post office. I decided to sell my corset on ebay (whatever made me think that an expensive corset was a must-buy item, I'll never know...) and I managed to get 40 quid for it. Some man bought it and I got slightly freaked out that he might be a perv but wotevz, I'm getting money for it haha!
