Worlds Apart

Jacket - Primark
Blouse - Primark
Skirt - H&M
Tights - Primark
Badges - Stolen Thunder & Helpless Romantic
Ring - Me & Zena

This is what I'm wearing tonight to see ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead at The Cockpit in Leeds. I am so so excited! I've not been to a gig since 2009 which was either Art Brut or Patrick Wolf, both also at The Cockpit. Its my fave venue ever as I have loads of wonderful studenty memories there. I also got really into Trail Of Dead when I was a student. I rinsed their album Source Tags & Codes whilst doing the millions of design sheets required for my course. So yeah, hopefully it'll live up to my expectations!

I bought this jacket a few years ago from Primark and its something thats really lasted though lots of wear. The lapels never stayed in place so I pinned it down with some badges. The heart one I bought years ago from Helpless Romantic and the 'I Heart Gin' one was a recent purchase from the Stolen Thunder secret sale. I fully intend on drinking lots of gin tonight haha.

Orange Blossom

Dress - Dorothy Perkins
Belt - Primark
Socks - Dorothy Perkins
Shoes - New Look
Rings - Urban Outfitters

I know I said I would never order clothes online again for fear of Hermes totally screwing up my delivery but when I saw that Dorothy Perkins had 25% off I couldn't resist. This dress is from their limited edition collection which I think might be website only? I love floral patterns & peter pan collars so this dress ticked all the boxes. I also got these really cute polka dot ankle socks. Been looking for some cute white ankle socks for yonks now, so I was happy to find these. Loving my new shoes too. I bought these from New Look yesterday after lusting after them for weeks. I was suckered in by their vintage style. I love the cut of the foot hole (lol technical terms). I always see tons of shoes like these in vintage shops but get put off by the thought of someone else wearing them once upon a time. Maybe its just me hehe.

Another purchase this week was a new tripod. I ordered one the other day as my old one was only 50" so I had to keep bending into weird positions to take photos. This one is 67" and it was an ebay bargain. It only cost £18 which is very cheap for such a high quality tripod. Seriously saved so much time taking photos this morning & will definitely encourage me to blog more often. This is the one I got. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a good but cheap tripod.

Anyways this is what I wore today during a visit from my mum. I love it when she comes cos it means I get to go out at night. Tonight me and Andy went to Nandos where we devoured a whole chicken, garlic bread, chips & pitta bread with hummous. God I love Nandos, hadn't been in ages. Can't get enough of the extra hot sauce nom. I'm a total chilli fiend, I've been known to carry around a little bottle of tabasco with me because food is never hot enough! Afterwards we had a few cocktail pitchers but then had to get home for 9pm as my mum had too check into her hotel. Ah well, a date night is a date night even if its only for a few hours.

Little Acorns

T-Shirt - Urban Outfitters
Cardigan - Uniqlo
Shorts - Topshop
Belt - Primark
Tights - Primark
Necklaces - Miss Selfridge & Argos
Ring - Topshop

This is what I wore yesterday. I've been wearing slight variations of this all week as I've been trying not to be too dressed up in order to blend in with loads of mummys. I've been to four different baby groups this week and if I have to listen to another person talking about what size clothes their baby wears, how they're sleeping or how many poos they're doing a day, I think I may explode. Saying that they were all really fun and I made some new friends so they're not all that bad. The best one was a group in the pub on Monday. I had a really yummy pub lunch of a Cajun chicken burger with homemade chips & coleslaw. If it wouldn't have made me look like the worst mother ever I so would've ordered a pear Kopparberg with my meal. Maybe next time eh?

This cardigan is actually a long waterfall style from Uniqlo which I bought years ago. It looked a bit odd being so long with the high waisted shorts so I wrapped it round like a ballerina top and tied it at the back. Its gone a bit wrong in these photos though, think it was the way I was standing eek. I really miss Uniqlo, I used to go to the one in Bromley all the time, its a shame there isn't one up north. I bought the pearl necklace last week from Miss Selfridge as it was reduced to £1 in the sale. It reminded me of those really expensive Dogeared necklaces. Glad I hadn't bought one of them now as I got this lovely little bargain instead.

Silver Hair & Some Goodies

Yesterday I finally went back to Cutting Room Creative in Leeds and got my roots done. I'd not been since February so they were looking pretty horrendous. This time I asked them to tone it really silvery and I'm really happy with how its turned out. The horrible yellow banding I had from getting my roots done last time has completely gone with this application of toner too. Its quite nice having my hair all one colour for a change haha! For anyone trying to get a silver look they used a L'Oreal Luocolor P01 toner, which you can buy at Sallys.

Considering Leeds has loads of nice shops that we don't have here I figured I would indulge in some retail therapy after my appointment. I popped into Space.NK and got a Nars illuminator in Copacabana & blush in Deep Throat. Seriously in love with both of these bad boys. I've bought a million different highlighters, (some as recently as last week!) but once I swatched this one on my hand I knew it was a bit special. It really is dazzling on the skin. I used it under my foundation as well as over and my skin looks positively gleaming. I found it hard to choose between all the blushers. I was so tempted to go for Orgasm or Super Orgasm but I chose Deep Throat because it has more of a silvery sheen to it rather than the gold sheen of the Orgasm family. Its a lot pinker too rather than peachy so I felt it would suit my skintone better. 'Tis a beaut!

I also went into House Of Fraser to get a Bobbi Brown creamy concealer kit. This product is an old favourite of mine and I much prefer it to MAC's Studio Finish concealer. I find that it completely hides my dark circles & blends into the rest of my makeup a lot easier. They recently repackaged & reformulated it & my old one had run out quite a while ago. I'm so glad that they changed the loose powder to pressed as it was always really messy & most of the powder ended up down my top. The change in packaging is definitely an upgrade too as both the concealer & powder are on the same part & you get a nice mirror too. This product is a complete essential for me.

Meet The Flintstones

Shirt - H&M
Dress - H&M
Ring - ASOS
Necklace - Argos

This is a new shirt that I bought from H&M when I went to Manchester a couple of weeks ago. I really like the colour & pattern on it but I can't help but be reminded of The Flintstones. It doesn't help that as soon as my boyfriend gets home I know hes going to say 'why are you dressed as Fred Flintstone?' haha.

Supposed to be going to a BBQ later on at Andy's dad's house. As much as I love my food, I'm totally dreading it. His partner is a bit of a mental & has apparently made loads of Mexican food just for me cos its my fave. Not good when I'm on a diet! Especially not good when her idea of a diet is eating about 5000 calories a day. Ah well, guess I can't complain when theres free food on offer! I've been doing the 30 day shred and just finished day 3 today. Not lost any weight so far but every muscle in my body aches so hopefully I'll be nicely toned in 27 days time. Starting to hate Jillian already!

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua

Face - GOSH Primer, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua (Pastel), MAC Studio Finish Concealer (NC15), MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural (Light), Topshop Cream Blush (Flush), Eyeko Cream With Extra Glow, Bourjois Illuminating Touch (96 Rose Universel)
Eyes - Max Factor False Lash Effect Fusion Mascara, L'Oreal Carbon Gloss Superliner, MAC Eyeshadow (Shroom), MAC Eyebrow Pencil (Fling), MAC Brow Set (Clear)
Lips - Chanel Lipgloss (68 Candy Glow)

Recently I've been on the hunt for a new foundation. I normally wear Estee Lauder Doublewear in Shell but I often find it looks & feels a bit heavy. I wanted something really lightweight but with good coverage for Summer. Plus I hate that no matter how many different highlighters I use with Doublewear, my face still looks really matte. I want a natural, pretty glow for once. After reading loads of reviews about Chanel foundations I decided to go for Vitalumiere Aqua. I find it very difficult to find a foundation that actually matches my skin colour. Sometimes Doublewear even looks a bit dark on my skin. I bought Vitalumiere Aqua in the shade B10 - Pastel and for once my face actually looks like the same colour as my neck. The lady in House Of Fraser said it was one step up from a tinted moisturiser & that is definitely the best way to describe it. Its water-based so it really glides onto the skin and it feels like I don't actually have any makeup on my face. I normally use a Beautyblender for Doublewear but I find that this foundation applies best with a brush. I used a MAC 187 to get a flawless finish without streaks. The £31 price tag is a bit hefty but so far I think its worth every penny.

Gosh my hair looks ridic, can't wait to get my roots done on Tuesday ;)

Death At The Chapel

Lace Shrug - Topshop
Polka Dot Vest - H&M
White Top - Topshop
Black Top - Topshop
Necklace - This Charming Girl

I started off this morning wearing this lace shrug & polka dot vest with a black bodycon skirt. Then just as I was taking some outfit photos the door rang and the postie turned up with a lovely package from Topshop. I ordered these two tops and some pink shorts on the 21st of April. I've been tracking them constantly ever since and got really concerned when two days ago the status changed to delivered. Luckily some nice person decided not to steal my parcel & instead popped it into a letterbox. Bloody Hermes, their service is ridiculously shiteous. So many online shops use them as couriers as well. Going by the Money Saving Expert forums I'm not the only one who's had problems with them. Ah well, I know now to just get on the train & visit a Topshop rather than ordering online.

I do love these tops though. They looked so gorgeous on the website I couldn't decide between them and had to order both colours. I think it'll be worth it though, they'll go with anything & they're exactly my kinda style. I'm staying in the white one with the lace shrug on top today. Not that I'm doing anything exciting as per usual. Probs just gonna go food shopping in a bit & play some Zelda: Twilight Princess. Still haven't finished it, I totally suck. I think the only Zelda game I've actually finished was Phantom Hourglass.

Anyone else excited for the new series of The Apprentice? I've just been looking pictures of the candidates on Digital Spy. I didn't realise it starts next week yay! Nothing better than some glorified salesmen making complete arses of themselves. I always get really annoyed on any task where they have to design something. It always looks like a 5 year old opened up Photoshop and plonked down the worst fonts known to man. I could do a better job than the graphic designers they use. Hire me BBC! By the way thank you for all your lovely comments about my design work in my last post. Hopefully I can put my skills to good use sometime soon!

Electro Girl

Playsuit - Topshop
Cardigan - River Island
Tights - Primark
Ring - Miss Selfridge
Necklace - Girlprops

I always feel a lot happier when I'm wearing bright colours and today is no exception. I think its like how the weather affects your mood, colours have that effect on me. Everything I'm wearing other than my new Miss Selfridge ring was actually bought years ago. One thing that I'm really glad I dug out of my stash is this orange lipstick. It's Electro by Mac and I think its such a nice colour. I'm definitely loving the bright lips trend this Summer. Are there any uber bright shades you'd care to recommend?

Not doing much today, think I'll just take Chloe to the park later on. I'm trying to get back into my design work as I think its definitely time I started looking for a job. Not that I'm likely to get a design job around here. Think I'll probably just apply to all the temp agencies & supermarkets to see if theres anything available part-time. I would still really like to continue with my graphic design work so I updated my portfolio website. I know its the new trend amongst bloggers to start up jewellery shops so I was thinking about starting up a shop selling giclee prints of my work. Well I'd have to start working on some stuff thats actually sellable. Most of my work is just projects I did at uni. Either way, I need a job haha.
