Arran Aromatics Feel Good Formulas Sea Salt Scrub

Arran Aromatics Feel Good Formulas Sea Salt Scrub* - £12.75

As you may have read in my new year's resolutions post I've promised myself that I would put more effort into everything I do & stop being so damn lazy. One area where I've always been a slacker beauty-wise is looking after my body. So this year I'm breaking out the body exfoliators & moisturisers to keep every part of myself in tip top shape. I suffer from keratosis pilaris (bumpy upper arms) so I require some heavy-duty exfoliation. However I also have sensitive eczema-prone skin so I do have to be careful about which products I use. One product that I've been really impressed with recently is this body scrub from Arran Aromatics. All of their products are made on the Isle Of Arran in Scotland. Their contemporary Feel Good Formulas range is made with essential oils & natural spring water to help you feel nourished & revitalised. This particular product features natural seaweed extract and is packed full of minerals & moisturising oils, namely sunflower seed oil & coconut oil.

The main ingredient, of course, is sea salt. The most important thing for me when choosing a new body scrub is the level of grittiness & this one really delivers. I personally think that salt scrubs are far superior to sugar scrubs but sometimes you have to be careful that the salt is not too scratchy. This one is absolutely perfect & exfoliates my skin really well without irritating it. In combination with those lovely oils, the scrub leaves my body feeling beautifully soft & smooth. It does a fantastic job of exfoliating & moisturising in one go and I sometimes feel like I don't even need to put on moisturiser afterwards. It has just the right amount of oil in it to hydrate my skin but it doesn't leave an oily residue on my body or in the shower. It adds a good bit of slip for easier shaving. As you can see in the picture theres lots of little flakes of seaweed & mint leaves in it too. These sometimes get stuck on your body but you can remove them with a shower pouf. This is one of the most effective body scrubs I've tried & I would thoroughly recommend this product for anyone else who suffers from keratosis pilaris. I'm sure it would be a great choice before applying fake tan too.

The only downside to this product is that it doesn't really smell of much. I like my bath products to smell really nice because I think that aromatherapy has a big effect on my mood. It has a fresh ocean scent but it's not terribly noticeable. I have had skin reactions to other scrubs with lots of added fragrance though so I guess it can be considered as a good thing. I really love the packaging, it reminds of something you'd get in an apothecary. Once you've finished off the scrub you can wash out the kilner jar & use it for something else. You can never have too many kilner jars I say! After trying this scrub I really want to get some more products from the Arran Aromatics Feel Good Formulas range. The Lavender & Black Pepper Mineral Muscle Soak sounds particularly dreamy!

    1. Haha the green is nice! The scent is literally the only downfall. I normally just follow it up with a beautifully scented shower gel to balance things out ;) xx
